Steve Bruce ‘All I Want Is Hatem Ben Arfa To Enjoy Playing Again, Feel Wanted’
Steve Bruce claimed sympathy for Alan Pardew over the weekend with speculation the Hull manager might replace him at St.James’ Park, however his comments on loan signing Hatem Ben Arfa suggests that sympathy doesn’t run very deep.
The Hull boss has effectively slated Pardew’s treatment of Hatem Be Arfa and made clear what he sees as the route to getting the best out of the flawed genius.
More than a few Newcastle eyes will be on Hull’s home match against West Ham tonight, and a positive late cameo from Hatem Ben Arfa, will simply be rubbing salt in the wounds after the clueless negative display at Southampton.
Steve Bruce speaking to Sky Sports;
“All I want him to do is go out there and enjoy playing again, feel wanted, be part of the club and be appreciated.
“I don’t think that he is fit enough to go straight in at the start because he hasn’t played ninety minutes for I don’t know how long.
“…but that is what you get when you have been ostracised, having to work with the under 21s.
“You are going to miss that intensity of training and playing, that is pretty normal – so he still has a bit to do in terms of fitness.
“He is going to have a big part to play here because he gives us that flexibility to play whatever formation we like.”
