Saturday Was Never Really About A Football Match For Newcastle United

Saturday was never really about a football match for Newcastle United.

It was about how bad the result would be and the degree to which it would hasten the manager’s inevitable departure.

When before the match starts, you hope that you will only be beaten 3-0, says all that needs to be said about the state of our club.

That I felt moved to put £1 on a 6-0 defeat shows what my expectations were from this game.

Our 4-0 loss here last year was about as bad as I have seen Newcastle United in 25 years and Saturday we could have easily been 1-0 down in 30 seconds…..

Quite simply, Pardew must go.

It is a wonder that the fans carry on cheering for the team; such hope and blind optimism.

It is too late, we have to accept the short-term pain of some more defeats, everyone should be demanding a change of manager and coaching staff with every breath.

There is a chance we have some good players in our squad but we are not going to have the chance to find out under the current regime.
