Roy Hodgson Watches Rolando Aarons Star and Score On England Debut
While Newcastle United have stumbled into the new season, for Rolando Aarons it is positive after positive.
Friday night saw eighteen year old Aarons make his England debut for the Under 20s and he took a starring role, scoring the first goal on 54 minutes and setting up England for a six goal rout.
The Newcastle winger then turned provider for the third goal, setting up Aston Villa’s Callum Robinson for a simple tap in.
Finally, with 12 minutes on the clock, Rolando Aarons played a great one-two with Robinson and the Romanian defence couldn’t handle the Newcastle player, tripping him for a penalty which was put away by Chelsea’s Lewis Baker for the fourth.
Romania were spared further torture as with England having crushed the opposition with four goals in twenty five minutes, Aarons was instantly substituted along with a host of other players to give others time on the pitch, England finally going on to win 6-0.
The watching Roy Hodgson can’t have failed to be impressed and with the England manager showing a leaning to give young players their chance, Aarons could be a potential for fast-tracking to the senior squad if he continues his progress.
As for Newcastle United, the shocking lack of creativity and spark in the team will see pressure on Alan Pardew to give the young winger his chance.
Yesterday brought speculation that [intlink id=”46954″ type=”post”]Liverpool and Manchester City were already taking an interest [/intlink]in Rolando Aarons, let’s hope the young winger contributes plenty to United’s cause this season that keeps this predictable speculation coming.
