Pardew Explains What Happened On Transfer Deadline Day But You Won’t Be Impressed
The Chronicle had said that Alan Pardew would explain at his Southampton press conference exactly what had happened on transfer deadline day.
Not sure how they knew but that was the first question that the Newcastle manager was asked today and that he answered, well I say answered…
I’m sure after [intlink id=”47187″ type=”post”]Mike Ashley\’s performance at the Sports Direct AGM when cornered by journalists yesterday[/intlink],he would have been proud of his manager when asked this question;
‘We haven’t spoken to you since deadline day, you didn’t manage to get anybody in on transfer deadline day and you let two go in Yanga-Mbiwa and Ben Arfa, what was the thinking behind that?’
“Well the thinking behind that was to get a squad that was good enough to go forward and we think we have got that.”
That was the whole answer Alan Pardew gave today.
This was despite on the eve of transfer deadline day telling everybody that targets were lined up and all that was needed was the finance and space to be created in the squad, for then potential deadline day signings to come in.
So two of the biggest earners at the club go out on loan and nothing comes in.
To give that as a total explanation for the farce of transfer deadline day at Newcastle United is disrespectful to the media present,plus of course ourselves who are relying on them to process that information back.
