Papiss Cisse Says Fightback Starts Here

6 years ago

Papiss Cisse has said that the players had to stand up and be counted against Hull and put their anxieties to one side.

The returning striker also hopes that the fightback he inspired, can help spark a run of much needed form and results for the team.

Despite all the rumours, Cisse insists that the thought of leaving Newcastle never entered his head;

“The players didn’t look happy for the game (Hull) so we needed to show the people that we were strong.

“The team has to be strong, like against Hull, and work hard.

“It has been a very difficult last week, hard for the players.

“I hope it (fightback against Hull) gives luck to the team, is just go back into training and work hard.

“I’ve just had to focus on my injury (in the summer) and I never thought I need to move or something.

“That is just people speaking about it on the outside, I just had to keep going and train hard.

“I am a Newcastle player.”
