Newcastle United Confirm Siem De Jong Will Be Out For Months
Newcastle United have confirmed that summer signing Siem De Jong will be ‘out for a number of months.”
The club say that he picked the injury to his right thigh in training earlier this week, with the injury due to fully assessed at the start of next week.
However, many fans will feel that Alan Pardew admitting he played Siem De Jong against Crystal Palace even though he wasn’t fully fit, [intlink id=”46950″ type=”post”]is very likely to have been a contributory factor [/intlink]after the Dutch midfielder had struggled for fitness since breaking down in pre-season.
Pardew stated that he had risked De Jong against Palace because he is capable of that bit of quality to unlock opposing defences, the question obviously now will be exactly who can provide that to the team now in De Jong’s absence?
“Siem De Jong sustained an injury to his right thigh in training earlier this week and is to be assessed further at the start of next week
“Initial indications are that he is likely to be out for a number of months.”
