Newcastle Midfielder Believes He Has ‘Grown As A Player and As A Man’
Mehdi Abeid hopes that he will get a chance to build on the progress he made during his year long loan at Panathinaikos.
Last season, Abied scored ten goals from midfield as he helped his on-loan club win the Greek Cup and qualify for the early rounds of the Champions League.
Abeid did ok in a starting role at Gillingham in the League Cup but the three Premier League matches have seen him sat on the bench against Villa and Man City, then dropped for the eighteen against Palace.
[intlink id=”46977″ type=”post”]With a midfield crisis brewing though[/intlink], will the twenty two year old be able to step up?
Talking to the Shields Gazette, Mehdi Abeid had this to say;
“I grew up as a player and as a man, I played a lot of games and it was a lot of experience for me.
“I wanted to play football and now I want to pass another level, to keep going.
“I didn’t know what would be my future but now it is clearer in my head. I want to keep going and show people I can improve myself here (Newcastle).
“The Premier League is a big league in the world and playing at that level would be great for me, but I have to be patient and I have to work.”
