Newcastle Flop Luuk De Jong Says Holland Should Take A Look

Newcastle flop Luuk De Jong enjoyed a disastrous loan spell at St.James’ Park but says he still has attributes that he can offer his national set-up.

With no permanent deal offered by United, De Jong has found himself back in Holland after a cut price £4.5m move to PSV, representing a loss of some £8m in two years for Borussia Monchengladbach.

The striker has played and completed four league matches for PSV, scoring in the win over Vitesse. While in Europa League action, De Jong scored home and away against Austrian minnows St.Poltken.

Riding on the crest of this goals wave, Luuk de Jong has reminded Guus Hiddink that he still has something to offer the Dutch team;

“There are good strikers in the Dutch team and it’s difficult when they already have players such as Robin Van Persie and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

“Perhaps if they ever need a target man…or something, I might be used as I am very strong in the air.”

Something that will be news for the Newcastle fans who saw him play…
