Newcastle Central Defender Scores Twice From Corners – In Same Match!

While the lack of goals from set-pieces, especially corners, continues to embarrass Alan Pardeww and his first team, Remie Streete showed the way on Monday night with the two goals that defeated Arsenal.

This third win in a row saw the Newcastle United Reserves/Under 21s go top of the second division, the clubs divided into two divisions in the summer.

Played at Boreham Wood, Arsenal played a weakened team as they look to continue their policy of playing younger players in their League Cup clash with Southampton tonight.

Streete put United ahead on twenty minutes when he met Barlaser’s corner with his head (a bizarre concept that might catch on one day with the first team).

Midway through the second period, centre-back Remie Streete repeated the trick but this time it was Liam Smith supplying the corner for another headed finish.

The final seconds saw the young Gunners snatch a consolation but it was United and Streete’s night.

The nineteen year old defender is reportedly still on course to join Port Vale on loan to get some much needed game time at a higher level.
