The Masses Believe They Have The Newcastle United Golden Ticket
An amusing side story from the tense Newcastle v Hull matchday, saw the club caught out by an extra feature they added to the match programme.
There was a prize available which meant one fan would go behind the scenes after the match and be the beneficiary of a match-worn shirt from a Newcastle player.
Following the Charlie And The Chocolate Factory route, NUFC included a golden ticket in one copy of the match programme.
However, the club were reported to be inundated with winners as they had printed a ‘replica’ in every programme which was a little too realistic.
Programme Editor Anth Marshall used his Twitter account to apologise for the fact that not all Newcastle fans were winners on Saturday.
“Apologies to anyone confused by Golden Ticket page in today’s programme. The 1 printed was an example. Will be made clearer in future.”
