Fans’ Choice Of Newcastle Team v Stoke

The fans choice of the Newcastle team v Stoke has some interesting angles.

Midweek against Crystal Palace brought up a picture of a number of players with little between them but very few sure things with only three players getting 80& or more of the fans voting for them.

Of course you had a number of players such as Krul and Cisse missing through illness, while others such as Tiote were widely expected to be rested.

However, today there are nine players who have all had 80% or more of the fans voting for them.

Williamson is the tenth highest with 71% as a fair few fans feel you may as well swap the deckchairs around on the titanic and bring in Steven Taylor instead, his vote has climbed to 32% on the back of Mapou going out on loan and Colo & Williamson being average at best.

Interesting to see that despite the victory at Palace, it hasn’t convinced supporters that Dummett should get in ahead of Haidara, or that Armstrong is ready to take his chance.

Nor indeed that Krul has the remotest challenge from Elliot, or that Obertan or Sammy Ameobi are in any way competing for a place.

Maybe the biggest marker though is that if fit enough, fans would definitely like to see Pardew start with both strikers, Cisse and Riviere, together.

The first eleven in bold are those with the highest percentage of fans selecting them, with the other players following.

97% Krul
