Did The Chosen One Simply Go To The Wrong United?

With the popularity of the phrase “Pardew Out” rapidly increasing yet again, it got me thinking about what next…

As much as I enjoyed the immediate downfall of the the Mancs once the inferior Scot came in, you would have to agree that his previous success in the game seems to be right in line with Cashley’s vision for our club.

It won’t be the fact that David Moyes brought European football to Goodison park that draws Ashley to Moyes but the consistency with which he went about his business.

Constantly being handed a budget akin to a Sports Direct wageslip, Moyes delivered good signings and proven Premier League players (Purple Players), he very rarely complained and was willing to play the Chairman’s puppet by uttering the words, “we’ll challenge the top 4 next year.”

With Mike Ashley’s checklist seeming to look like the following:

– Performs on a Budget (Check- success at Everton)

– Cheap Wages (Check- in Moyes there is a manager that is trying to rebuild his rep)

– Boost sales at SD (Check- Wears a tracksuit to all games)

On a more positive note and in stark contrast to our current state of affairs, I would question who wouldn’t take a consistent top half finish, sensible tactics and a man who was coveted by some top clubs before Man Utd gave him a kicking.

Maybe he was chosen for the wrong United…

David Moyes is current second favourite at 6/1 to be the next Newcastle manager, check out the full list of odds and to see who is favourite go HERE.
