Reflecting on the Newcastle v Crystal Palace performance, Alan Pardew has declared ‘We wasn’t brilliant’.

The United managing acknowledging that his players ‘…ran out of ideas a little bit’.

Pardew namechecks Rolando Aarons as the one bright spot in the match and says that the team let the winger down as he should have been the winning hero.

There is also an acceptance that Newcastle could have conceded more than the three goals with Pardew stating that hos team was far too loose and when Palace broke they looked as though they could score at any time.

Alan Pardew;

“We’ve dug away, we wasn’t brilliant.

“I thought at times we ran out of ideas a little bit, but we’d still got enough in and around the team, and enough fight in the team to see us in front and we should have seen it out.

“We were a bit looser today, because we have been really tight in the other games, and I feel we need to keep that tightness.

“We can’t get loose, too many breakaways today for Palace.

“We’d worked on our attacking play and had some moments.

“Rolando came on and had a tremendous cameo for us and changed the game.

“Really and truly he should be the hero tonight but as I say, perhaps as a team we have let him down.”
