Alan Pardew ‘It Is Time To Stand Up And Deliver’

Ahead of a crucial home game against Hull City, Alan Pardew has made clear he is under no illusions as to the importance of what happens next.

Shellshocked after the game at St.Mary’s it was embarrassing to see a Newcastle United manager shirking his responsibility of meeting the waiting newspaper journalists.

Pardew did the contractually required pieces for both Sky and the BBC but he also did his usual post-match interview for the official club website.

Amongst the soft questions he was asked, Alan Pardew was posed this one;

‘A lot of new faces bedding in, is now the time for patience?’

While patience is a predictable message he has been trotting out pre-Southampton, the United boss admitted that it was time to ‘Stand and deliver’, though he also claimed that Newcastle had been unlucky with their early fixtures…

“Well I don’t know about patience…it is time to stand up and deliver really.

“Next Saturday is an important game for us because now we have had a difficult start.

“If we’d got something today, even a point, it would have been an ok start because I think we’ve had some tough games to start with.

“Now we have got a game at home where the pressure is really going to be on us and we are going to have to deliver.”
