I guess you have to be pretty resilient when you work for Mike Ashley and Alan Pardew is promising to tough it out as he faces possibly one of the, if not THE, biggest match of his time at Newcastle United.

The manager declaring that it is not an arrogance or his ego that will help ‘front this out’, rather he refers to the ‘resilience in my soul’.

The Newcastle boss says he has had tough times both at United and in his previous jobs, with that experience helping him to face the challenge on Saturday.

Alan Pardew;

“You have got to remember I’ve been a Premier League manager for a number of years, not just at this football club.

“I have had tough times and you have to have that as a manager, you can’t be in the job as long as I have been in it, without really really tough days.

“This (Hull) will be one of my toughest, I need to show to the players and I’ve tried to express that this week….

“There is a resilience in my soul, not an arrogance or my ego getting carried away that I’m going to front this out.”
