Alan Pardew Cracks It! ‘I Might Need To Look At The Front Part Of The Pitch’
Newcastle might not have won any points last night but Alan Pardew is already a leading contender to pick up an award.
After watching his front players struggle to make any impression on a poor Stoke team, the Newcastle manager declared ‘I might need to look at the front part of the pitch’.
Alan Pardew started off by claiming that it was one of those tight games, who gets the first goal etc etc;
“It was a tight game, the margins were tight. The first goal was very important for both teams.
“They got it and Stoke have proved all season that they are very difficult to break down when they take the lead (Stoke have taken the lead 3 times in the PL before Monday and conceded after 2 of those three goals)”.
“We really tried first half, I thought we made some good moments but we are lacking quality in the final third.
“I’m not going to disguise that and that was exposed again tonight.”
The Newcastle manager then claiming that the introduction of Sammy Ameobi and Obertan had helped late on…
“Second half towards the end we started creating a little bit more when we had a bit more width on the team.
“I might need to look at the front part of the pitch, might need to make some changes, but for sure tonight the discipline and fight was there. Unfortunately, the result isn’t, and that is everything at the moment for us.”
I suppose taking the ‘positives’ out of this, at least now Alan Pardew has cracked what the problem is, he’ll be coming up with a cunning plan to deal with this trick ‘front part of the pitch’ problem…
