Alan Pardew Claims He’s Going Nowhere

Reinforcing Mike Ashley’s pre-Hull message via Sky Sports, Alan Pardew has stated that he is not leaving and indeed is here for the ‘long haul’.

In the build-up to the Hull match and the fan protests against the manager (and by association the owner), Ashley took the unusual step of getting Sky’s David Craig to announce before the game that the owner had confirmed Pardew wouldn’t be sacked, whatever the result.

Now Pardew says that the season is still all to play for but getting off the bottom of the league is the starting point.

With two hard away matches at Stoke and Swansea coming up, [intlink id=”191″ type=”page”]fixtures[/intlink] which returned a total of zero points last season, the Newcastle boss will be desperate to anywhere but bottom of the league when Leicester visit in the next home match.

Alan Pardew;

“We have got two tough away games but we are here for the long haul.

“A lot of games to go but there is still a big season and it is all to play for.

“We are Newcastle United and we’re sitting at the bottom of the League and haven’t won a Premier League match – we have to put that right.

“The pressure isn’t going away so I am looking forward to building on this small step (Cup win at Palace).”
