Alan Pardew Aims To Be Humble And Hopes To Convert At Least One Fan Today
Alan Pardew believes that if he can convert just one Newcastle fan today it will help, IF his players can put in a performance.
The United boss has also declared that after five matches Newcastle should not be bottom of the league.
The Newcastle manager also believes that Southampton is the only bad performance he can point to and suggests that it is the late ‘form’ of last season which is responsible for most of the negativity and subsequent protests.
“Newcastle shouldn’t be bottom of the league after five games, that’s simple.”
“It’s about being professional, going out on Saturday, being as strong as we can be and try and win as many fans back with our performance as we can…if it is just one, that will help.
“I have to be as humble as I can in terms of accepting it.
“It has come about because of the performances and the run of form we had, mainly towards the back of last year.
“If you look at the season this year, really and truly I can point to the one performance at Southampton, when we were way off the mark.
“We have had a lot of criticism about that and I expected it, but up until then I thought we was looking ok and nothing like our performance at Villa. So I think we need to get back to not too long ago and get that performance we got at Villa and get ourselves a win on Saturday.”
