Alan Pardew Admits Newcastle Not Good Enough To Challenge For 12th Or Higher

Alan Pardew has claimed that Newcastle fans know that United aren’t a top six club, stating then that the club haven’t got the resource to be one.

Not the most optimistic of messages for supporters and many fans would argue that there would be tens of millions of pounds of extra resources available if the club was ran ambitiously, rather than simply to serve Sports Direct and the rest of his business empire.

However, the message from Alan Pardew gets even worse, as he then goes on to say that at the moment Newcastle aren’t even good enough to challenge for twelfth or higher.

Is it really only weeks ago that this same manager was saying he’d never had a stronger squad, or more attacking options, and even hinted at having a go at the Champions League placings????

Alan Pardew speaking after the match to the club’s own TV channel;

“They (Newcastle fans) are realistic and know we are not a top six club, I think they know that. We aint got the resources to do that.

“But seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, whatever, we have got to challenge those positions and we’re not good enough to do that at the moment.

“That is why we are two all at home to Hull today but we’re getting better.

“We was really good today at times, against a good Hull team.

“I think Hull are going to finish close to the top ten, so we have proven we can play at this level where we need to be and therefore, we can grow with this result.”
