Remy Cabella ‘I’ve Seen Nothing Like It’

Remy Cabella has been an instant hit at Newcastle United and it has worked both ways.

While fans have appreciated the goals and form in the friendly matches, the player himself has made clear what he thinks of his new surroundings.

Last season Remy Cabella almost single-handedly saved Montpellier from relegation and this was played out in front of an average home crowd of less than fifteen thousand.

Surveying his new fifty two thousand capacity home, Remy Cabella had this to say to the Shields Gazette;

“St.James’ Park is a special stadium.

“I think it is unique and I don’t think I have seen a stadium like it.

“I am really looking forward to hearing the atmosphere and getting out on the pitch – it will give me a lot of pleasure to play here.”

Over the years we have seen all kinds of players arrive at Newcastle United and many with decent pedigrees just don’t seem to thrive in front of fifty thousand crowds, while other supposedly lesser players do the opposite, raising their game to new levels on the back of the support.

A very select few are those who are star players AND thrive on the big stage of St.James’ Park – players such as Shearer, Ferdinand, Ginola and others.

Remy Cabella looks to have a great chance of joining that select band – here’s hoping.
