Pardew – Newcastle Can Have Great Season If Don’t Suffer January Transfer Window Damage…

Only days before the Premier League season kicks off, Alan Pardew claims that Newcastle United can have a great season IF they can successfully negotiate the January transfer window.

The Newcastle manager thinks the club have ‘..been very much on the ball’ in the transfer market this summer so far and states that ‘if something else comes along we think is right for us‘, the club may sign again before this window closes.

This is what is said every transfer window by Pardew so I don’t think it indicates one way or another the chances of any other players arriving.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Alan Pardew said;

“We have got another window to get through this winter and it caused us damage last time.

“Hopefully we’ll conduct our business successfully in that window and strengthen again, if we can then we can have a great season.

“I think we have been very on the ball with transfers and if something comes along we think is right for us, we’ve got scope to move.

“Whether we do move or not will depend on finance and whether it is right.”

It would be nice to think the new look squad could get into the top five by Boxing Day as happened last season.

Then we would find out whether anything at all has changed with Mike Ashley’s mindset, after the disastrous failure to invest last January coupled with selling the club’s best player in Yohan Cabaye.
