Newcastle United To Ban ipads And Tablets At Matches?
With Premier League clubs desperate to protect their interests, Manchester United have now banned supporters from taking ipads and tablet devices into Old Trafford.
Ahead of the friendly with Valencia on Tuesday night, the Manchester club sent this email to fans;
“Supporters can’t bring large electronic devices (bigger than 15mm x 100mm) inside the stadium. For example, ipads and other tablet devices & laptops ate now prohibited.
“Also please be aware that large bags, large cameras and liquids (with the exception of a small bottle of water with the top removed) are included in our list of prohibited items.”
The norm in the Premier League is that where one club leads, the rest follow. So it will be interesting to see how Newcastle United and the other clubs react.
As to what then happens if a supporter innocently turns up with a banned device…

While a bottle of pop can be discarded, what would you do with the bairn’s ipad that he normally plays on at half-time (or for the entire game as was the case in the second half of Newcastle’s season last time around…).
