Newcastle New Signing Facundo Ferreyra – Video Goals Special
While there are widespread reports across the media stating that [intlink id=”45600″ type=”post”]Facundo Ferreyra has already signed for Newcastle[/intlink] on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk, Alan Pardew has claimed the deal isn’t quite done yet.
The Newcastle manager though giving this overview of the Argentinian striker;
“Facundo is a good presence on the pitch, a big guy at 6ft 2in, a player who has gone to the Ukraine and has been OK.”
The details of the deal that were reported today, included goal.com stating that the financial side of the deal sees a €2m (approx £1.6m) loan fee paid, with the option of an €8m (approx £6.4m) permanent deal at the end of the loan period.
Due to the political situation in the Ukraine, a number of players including striker Ferreyra have refused to return to Shakhtar Donetsk.
United had been previously linked with the player when he was playing for Velez Sarsfield in his native league, scoring 16 goals in only 22 league starts in the 2012/13 season. Shakhtar then paying around £7.5m for the then twenty two year old.
Ferreyra only scored 6 league goals for Donetsk last season but considering he only made 5 starts and 8 appearances from the bench, it is a decent return from limited opportunities.
Enjoy below a compilation of Ferreyra’s goals for Argentina’s Under 20s and club side Velez Sarsfield, before his move to the Ukraine.
He scores with his left and right, takes penalties and looks especially tasty in the air.
(Apologies for the usual cheesy music accompanying the goals!)
