Newcastle Cup Draw Is One Of Five All Premier League Clashes

The Newcastle Cup draw sees United take on Crystal Palace in South London as their reward for beating Gillingham on Tuesday night.

Matches will be played on either Tuesday 23rd or Wednesday 24th September.

Newcastle play home to Hull on Saturday 20th September, although this could change to the Sunday if Steve Bruce’s team progress in Europe tonight. The following fixture sees United take on Stoke with a Monday night kick-off on September 29th.

Looking at the other fixtures it would appear unlikely TV broadcasters will be bothering with our encounter.

If Newcastle were to progress then there would be an absolute maximum of 9 other Premier League clubs in that last 16, with a minimum of 7 non-PL clubs guaranteed a place in that fourth round.
