Manchester Press Claim Newcastle Interest In Two City Rejects
The local Manchester press claim that Newcastle United are considering a double move for two City rejects.
As somebody pointed out in [intlink id=”46262″ type=”post”]an article on this site earlier today[/intlink], the squad maybe isn’t quite as strong as was hoped after the summer transfer activity so far.
The Manchester Evening News report that both Micah Richards and Scott Sinclair are interesting NUFC.
With neither player included in the eighteen selected against Newcastle, it is clear neither Sinclair or Richards are of any interest to Pellegrini’s plans.
Scott Sinclair has made only two Premier League starts in two years since his £6.5m move from Swansea, while Micah Richards has fared little better with nine starting line-ups in the league over the past twenty four months.
City are desperate to reduce their wage bill to allow them to fit in with financial fair play and potentially add other players, though whether even that would reduce their price tags enough to interest Mike Ashley is dubious, considering the wages they will be on at the Etihad.
