Why Do They Keep Trying To Send Cheick Tiote To Russia?
I find it amusing that the media keep trying to send Cheick Tiote to Russia.
Whilst English clubs have also been linked with the Newcastle midfielder, when it comes to writing a transfer speculation story the journalists always come up with one or three Russian clubs ‘showing interest’ as well.
With Davide Santon it is Italy, no surprise there as he would be moving back home. However, for some reason that is the country that usually crops up in connection with a Tim Krul move.
They did get it right with Cabaye but PSG as a plausible destination for the playmaker was hardly rocket science.

The pool of established players likely to attract big bids has now reduced and we await to see what the future holds for the likes of De Jong, Cabella and Janmaat – both in terms of their form on the pitch AND the annoying press speculation that is sure to follow if they prove successes.
As for the rest of the players facing a possible exit, it is predictably a return to France where the unwanted Ben Arfa, Mapou, Obertan and Marveaux are linked with.
As for Cheick Tiote, the Daily Star reckon he could be off to Lokomotiv Moscow this time, with a claim that the transfer could happen due to Lassana Diarra potentially moving from Moscow to QPR.
Why Cheick Tiote would specifically interest Russian clubs and the same with Krul and Italian ones, is beyond me.
Surely it couldn’t just be lazy journalists not even bothering to dream up a new country…
