Hatem Ben Arfa Opens Talks On Move To Turkey – Reports
With the clock ticking towards Monday’s 11pm transfer window deadline, it is now reported that Hatem Ben Arfa has began talks which could see a belated move away from St.James’ Park.
Besiktas are the club named as the French genius/layabout’s potential destination, despite Arsenal knocking them out of the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Respected website goal.com say they understand that new Besiktas centre-forward Demba Ba has recommended Ben Arfa and if a deal is done, the Turkish club see the Frenchman as the type of player who can help them mount a serious attempt on the league title.
Besiktas also have the dual challenge of competing in the Europa League as well, earlier today they were pulled out of the hat in the same group as FC Partizan, Spurs and Asteras Tripolis.
You may possibly have heard that Alan Pardew isn’t too keen on Hatem and with the winger now in his last season at Newcastle United, Mike Ashley is desperate to get him off the wage bill and hopefully claw in some kind of transfer fee.
