Fabricio Coloccini Believes Newcastle Going Right Way If Keep Up The Tempo

Fabricio Coloccini claims that Newcastle United are heading the right way, if the players keep up the tempo and intensity from the first two matches.

The United Captain saying that it is important a number of chances were created at Villa and that Newcastle deserved to win.

The other side of that equation of course is that while chances were created at Villa Park, it took until the final minutes before substitute Siem De Jong made keeper Guzan pull off his first decent save.

Speaking to the Shields Gazette, Fabricio Coloccini said;

“Good thing is we are creating many, many chances – when you create a few chances it is possible to score.

“Sometimes it is difficult but we had 4 or 5 chances and that is important.

“Against Manchester City we did well as well and had good shape, but they have great players, that made the difference.

“I think we are going the right way and have to keep that intensity and high tempo.

“We pushed more than them (Villa) to win the game, they waited to go on the break – we deserved the three points.”
