Alan Shearer Reveals He Couldn’t Give Tickets Away

Alan Shearer has revealed that things got so bad at Newcastle last season, he couldn’t even give tickets away.

The Newcastle United legend shares a box with nine friends and at one match less than half of them wanted to go, with nobody else wanting to take their places.

This is a situation that will resonate with many season ticket holders who experienced a similar problem, the second half of last season was so dismal that many people I know struggled to even give their season ticket away for matches they couldn’t make.

The fact that fans can watch the match in their local pub via foreign satellite only making the situation even worse.

Shearer told The Mirror;

“For the first time last year in our box, which I share with nine other guys, there was a game where we couldn’t give a ticket away.

“There were only three or four who wanted to go – I hope that doesn’t happen again this season.”

The differences between number of tickets sold and the actual number of fans attending matches, was the subject of a recent fascinating article on the website which you can read [intlink id=”46094″ type=”post”]HERE[/intlink].
