Alan Pardew ‘This Newcastle Team Has Got More Than One Goal A Game In It’
Alan Pardew has claimed that his new look Newcastle team has got ‘More than one goal a game’ in it.
The Newcastle manager has compared this season’s team as capable of winning by more than the one goal he states they won by regularly last year.
Pardew believes that the starting eleven this campaign has the right framework to allow the flair players to perform and now it is down to those flair players to perform;
“We have not got away from the fact that we got beat, but I think the mood in the City and the training ground, is the same.
“There has been the kind of performance that has suggested we might have some good players here.
“We might have a unit that has a good framework to go and win games.
“The process for a football manager is to give flair players a framework to play in and that is what we have got here. Now we need our flair players to deliver.
“We didn’t score last week, we need to get some goals.
“I think that this team has got goals in it, I think it has got more than one goal a game.
“Last year we were winning games by one goal and I think we can do better than that this year.”
Apart from Remy Cabella I find it hard to pick out many flair players in the squad now. Maybe Siem De Jong but I get the impression that he is a player who more gets on the end of things in dangerous situations and can finish, rather than creating so much for others.
The other player in this category would be Rolando Aarons but it remains to be seen how much opportunity the skilful young winger gets this season.
