Alan Pardew ‘ Hopefully We’ll Have Some Points On Board Before Playing Palace’
Alan Pardew hopes Newcastle will have some points on the board already when his players take on Crystal Palace in the next home match.
To achieve this, Newcastle will need to get something at Villa on Saturday.
The visit to Villa Park will put extra pressure on Pardew if things go wrong, as it was outcast Hatem Ben Arfa who produced a masterclass a year ago, scoring one and making the other goal to bring three points back to Tyneside.
That win coming only days after Ben Arfa had scored a goal out of nothing to beat Fulham at St.James’ Park.
The Newcastle manager appears to pinning a lot of hope on Siem De Jong helping out Remy Cabella, as the rest of his team don’t look to have a lot of creativity in their ranks.
“Hopefully when we come here against Crystal Palace we will have some points on the board, and we can get ourselves a good home win, which will be important for us.
“I think Siem (De Jong) will be close (for Villa on Saturday).
“Without Siem and Cheick (Tiote), who I think will make a big difference, I thought that we had a really good go.
“I am really buoyed actually by a lot of things that went on.”
