Alan Pardew Hopes Summer Signings Can Handle The Pressure
Alan Pardew says he hopes that the summer signings can handle the pressure at the cub and in the Premier League.
The Newcastle manager also believes that the first experience of playing at St. James’ Park against Real Sociedad will help the new arrivals to ‘…understand what it means to play for Newcastle’.
Pardew also thinks that the team has a ‘new look’ with the additions to the squad.
Speaking to the club’s official TV channel, Alan Pardew had this to say;
“A great occasion for our new players, to understand what it means to play for Newcastle.
“The place will be jumping (next Sunday v Man City) and they have got to live up that expectation.
“That is always difficult for new players and I’m hoping that they can handle that pressure.
“Nice moments from the new players, to show we have a different look to us.
“Janmaat at right-back, didn’t put a foot wrong really.
“Manu, his strength and power at the top of the pitch was important for us today.
“I thought Remy (Cabella) showed the quality he is going to bring us.
“He not far away from fitness, he’s obviously got to get a bit stronger but he’s a slightly built guy. It makes it difficult to contain him as he can skip past quite easily.
“He has a nice inventive brain, comes up with ideas on a football pitch and that is what fans love to see.”
These official Premier League match breaks include match ticket and overnight hotel stay for all games at St.James’ Park – limited availability so book early.
