Alan Pardew ‘We Coped Quite Well Because Huddersfield Have Some Good Players’

Despite having what looked his first choice eleven on the pitch Alan Pardew’s team struggled for much of the game to impose themselves on Huddersfield.

However, the Newcastle manager reverted to type as he lavished praise on the opposition, despite the hosts playing a totally different eleven players in each half.

Pardew claiming that Huddersfield could be contenders in the coming season, despite finishing only 17th last season

Alan Pardew;

“We coped quite well because Huddersfield have some good players.

“Like all the Championship sides it is difficult to know where they are going to finish in the league.

“They could be contenders, they could be good.

“We knew at the weekend that it was going to a tough schedule for the 4 teams involved – back to back is tough.

“We took this game on a Tuesday because it was a fatigue game – fur us to play under fatigue.”
