Sky Confirm Arsenal Begin Talks With Newcastle For Mathieu Debuchy Transfer
Sky Sports have confirmed that talks have began between Arsenal and Newcastle which could see a Mathieu Debuchy transfer to North London.
Ever since the French right-back stated that he was looking to sort his future out at the end of the World Cup, and that he missed Champions League football, there has been ever increasing speculation that he was on his way out of St.James’ Park.
Recent days have seen Newcastle United apparently make it clear that they are willing to sell for £12m with Micah Richards suggested as a possible replacement, though the suspicion remains that an internal switch could see Davide Santon switch to the right hand side.
While we are used to transfer speculation on a daily basis from all over the palce, whenever Sky Sports run a story about Newcastle United that includes a reference to ‘sources’ giving them information, considering that Sky are now the means by which United release all their moves to the outside world, it is fair to assume that the source is a Newcastle United official.
If Debuchy does exit the club, then it would mean that Newcastle have lost their best three players from last season, along with Cabaye and Remy.
