Result Of Poll Now In – Would Newcastle Fans Welcome Loic Remy Back?
Yesterday afternoon we reported that [intlink id=”45387″ type=”post”]Loic Remy\’s move from Queens Park Rangers to Liverpool had failed at the last minute[/intlink], the scousers apparently having concerns regarding the striker’s medical.
A previous move from Nice to Marseille in 2010 was held up when a heart defect was detected, though further tests affirmed that this didn’t affect him playing professional football. Whether this issue has come to the fore again is currently unknown but what next for Remy?
Thanks to all 3,083 of you who voted, and we can now reveal that 66% of supporters voted yes, and 34% no.
Which means that around 2 in 3 of the Newcastle fans who voted, indicated that they would welcome Loic Remy back this coming season. The voting was consistent and the numbers credible, to suggest this is a decent snapshot of how the Newcastle fanbase generally feels about the striker.
Last season, Loic Remy had scored ten goals by Boxing Day and looked to be one of the deals of the season.
In the remaining five months, the French forward added only four more goals and went missing through injury, as well as happily admitting that he could have played against Liverpool on the final day of the season (and potentially other matches) but chose not to as he was keeping himself for the World Cup.
With Newcastle desperate for a proven striker and Loic Remy now seemingly stuck in no man’s land as regards a new club, is a long-term move to Tyneside now a possibility?
