Remy Cabella Goes To…Corsica On Holiday
With claim and counter claim in the media as to whether Newcastle have now upped their bid for Remy Cabella, the reliable Get French Football News have revealed that the midfielder/playmaker has headed off on holiday to Corsica on Wednesday with no transfer imminent.
The midfielder having returned from Brazil, and despite not seeing any actual action, Cabella is only now able to take a belated holiday.
However, the more positive news is that the specialist French football news website understand talks are still ongoing between Newcastle and Montpellier, though there continues to be a disparity in what the two clubs believe his value to be.
It is believed that Newcastle have offered just under £10m but the French club expect a higher figure.
Another club, so far unnamed, have approached Montpellier with an interest in Cabella. The longer there is stalemate then surely the bigger the worry that the player will slip through Newcastle’s fingers.
With United leaving for New Zealand for a friendly tournament in only a week or so, it looks as though Cabella definitely won’t be on that plane, which would then leave only a couple of weeks for the Frenchman, or any other new signing, to integrate with the rest of the squad.
