Pardew On Remy Cabella Signing ‘I’d Like To Pay Tribute To Graham, Myself, Lee and Mike’
Alan Pardew has predictably praised Mike Ashley for the Remy Cabella signing, as well as Chief Scout Graham Carr and Managing Director Lee Charnley, but has also paid tribute to himself.
Cabella’s signature was [intlink id=”44841″ type=”post”]confirmed close to midnight on Sunday[/intlink] and the Newcastle manager believes that the new signing is somebody, “who can open the door.”
This is what Alan Pardew had to say to the club’s official TV channel;
“I’d like to pay tribute to my staff and in particular Graham (Carr), myself, Lee (Charnley), Mike (Ashley) and everyone on the board, who worked really hard for this one.
“We think he is a player who is important, obviously that is represented in the fee and in his commitment to us as well.
“I’m just looking forward to seeing an exciting talent in the team, somebody who can open the door.”
With the first friendly at Oldham on Tuesday and the squad flying off to New Zealand on Friday, the fact Newcastle still don’t have a recognised striker avaailable for the start of teh season is just a little worrying…as well as no replacement for Mathieu Debuchy as yet.
If the club bought two strikers, a right-back and a centre-half, of the required quality then maybe we’d all be doing a bit of back slapping. At this moment though the squad still looks very much under strength.
Another chance below to showcase the owner’s brand….sorry, football stadium.
