Newcastle’s Daryl Janmaat Offer Turned Down
Newcastle United have had an offer for Daryl Janmaat turned down by Feyenoord.
The Dutch right full-back/wing-back was the subject of a 6m Euros (around £4.8m) bid according to Dutch football magazine Voerbal International.
Janmaat only has a year left on his contract so no doubt Newcastle feel they can drive a hard bargain, especially as Feyenoord picked the player up as an out of contract free transfer from Heerenveen.
The Dutch side though are said to be hanging on for at least £6m, which would still seem a decent price for a player who was part of the Holland team that reached the World Cup semi finals, appearing in four of the six matches.
Daryl Janmaat turns twenty five later this month so age is definitely on his side and with United’s pressing need for a replacement with Debuchy on his way, a versatile defender like Janmaat looks to fit the bill.
