Newcastle Face New Competition For Striker

6 years ago

News this morning that Newcastle still retain an interest in Joel Campbell but a new club has entered the race for the Costa Rican striker.

With United desperate for a frontline striker, it is now reported that AC Milan want Joel Campbell as part of the deal that could potentially take Mario Balotelli to the Emirates.

Campbell has been at the Emirates for two and a half years after moving from Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa, however he has been almost permanently out on loan ever since.

The striker won the Greek domestic league with Olympiakos and also excelled in the Champions League, narrowly going out to Manchester United with Campbell starting both legs of that tie.

A versatile striker who can also play wide, back in March the now twenty two year old Campbell said about his future;

I don’t know what will happen with Arsenal, I have two years left of my contract and they’ll decide what will happen.”

Having been one of the hits of the World Cup in Brazil, Campbell definitely looks a forward who could potentially do a very good job in the Premier League.
