New Zealand – Wherever You Go You Will Always Find A Geordie
I’m guessing that Dean Wilkins (read his article from yesterday [intlink id=”44887″ type=”post”]HERE[/intlink]) has never been to New Zealand.
Otherwise he would have known that there are thousands on Geordies in New Zealand.
In fact if he had bothered to travel to the South Island he may have visited a town called Clyde, just outside of Queenstown.
Clyde is a town built around a hydro electric power plant built by Geordies, every single street is named after a Newcastle street name, with the exception of probably Whitby Street and Matau Street.

New Zealand has always had an affinity with the colours of Black and White, the rugby team are the Famous All Blacks, and their Football Team are the All Whites.
Whilst I agree that the (Sports Direct) business venture is probably on the agenda, it is there as a secondary action. Do not forget David Gold is also taking his West Ham to the same tournament, and shrewd business man that he is, he is not engaging in any other business.
History has proven with the MLS the first time round, if you do not introduce the full package, it will probably fail.
Newcastle’s visit will go a lot better if fans can buy merchandise from their local sports shop. I am really surprised he did not strike up a deal with Cantabrian, the biggest sportswear company in NZ.
