Loic Remy’s Liverpool Medical Failure Leaves Him Looking For New Club

The breaking news this afternoon is that former Newcastle loan striker Loic Remy has seen his move to Liverpool break down at the last minute.

Sky Sports are reporting that their sources tell them that Liverpool pulled out due to concerns about his medical.

When Remy moved from Nice to Marseille in 2010, it was initially held up due to the discovery of a heart defect.

Further medical tests at the time cleared him to continue playing and for the transfer to go through, stating that while the heart defect existed, it didn’t affect him playing professional football.

Whether the heart defect is the reason Liverpool have scuppered the deal is unknown at the minute.

One or two Newcastle fans will have a smile on their faces after Loic Remy was happy to admit he’d chosen not to play in the final match against Liverpool at the end of last season, despite being fit to play.

The then Newcastle striker stating that he was keeping himself for the World Cup, Remy then not starting a game in Brazil and only playing 28 minutes in total as a substitute for France.

Will this latest setback and medical concerns leave Mike Ashley smelling a (relative) bargain?
