Hugo Lloris Deal Could Help Keep Tim Krul At Newcastle
One piece of positive news today is that Tim Krul looks a bit more likely to be still at St.James’ Park this coming season.
Constant rumours of the Newcastle keeper heading to Tottenham now look to have ended, with Hugo Lloris agreeing a five year contract extension to stay at White Hart Lane.
Lloris arrived in 2012 and will now be working with his third Tottenham manager;
“The arrival of Mauricio Pochettino is important – I have a god feeling, he’s ambitious.
“Everything’s clear in my head and if I have signed a new contract it is because I trust the club and I am sure we will progress.”
While Krul’s involvement during open play in Brazil was limited to a few seconds, the Newcastle keeper’s penalty heroics will no doubt have made his name a lot more familiar with clubs potentially looking for a new goalkeeper.
Like other players at Newcastle, Krul will be looking for activity in the transfer market by Mike Ashley to convince him that there is ambition at the club.
