Teams are now in and France v Germany kicks off at 5pm UK time with Mathieu Debuchy and Yohan Cabaye making the starting line-up.

What looks like a potential classic sees Moussa Sissoko and Loic Remy both on the bench, completing the Newcastle connection.

France have an impressive record of 11 wins to Germany’s 8 in the 25 previous meetings between the two countries and French Coach Didier Descamps is relishing the moment;

“There’s no apprehension or fear, there is no reason for us to feel any.

“Germany are a solid side and have lots of experience at this level, but the game will be a pleasure for us, and we are preparing ourselves as well as possible for it.”

Meanwhile Germany’s Joachim Loew paid tribute to his French counterpart;

“Didier Descamps has turned France around since 2010 and we are looking forward to another classic.”

Good luck to Newcastle United French Connection.
