When asked about summer signing Ayoze Perez from Spanish second division side Tenerife, Alan Pardew has insisted that the striker, “Has been signed for now.”

Perez scored the winner in Wednesday night’s win at Hillsborough the striker scoring the only goal of the game with a cool finish. With Emmanuel Riviere currently the only senior striker available to Pardew due to Cisse’s injury, fans will wonder just how determined Newcastle United are to bring in the quality striker that is still clearly needed.

However, the Newcastle manager has acknowledged that in terms of his physical stature, the Spanish forward has plenty of improvement to come compared to some of the, “physical specimens you have in the Premiership.”

Speaking to the club’s official TV channel, Alan Pardew had this to say;

“Ayoze Perez has been signed for now.

“We know he has some development in his body , he is still quite frail compared to the physical specimens you have in the Premiershipm but he has shown quality and had one great chance tonight which he finished in style.

“He has shown that in training, he has got real flair and I think he is a player our fans are going to like.

“Hopefully he will have more of an impact than we are hoping for…if that makes sense.”
