Alan Pardew Admits Interest In Signing French Striker

Alan Pardew has admitted that Newcastle United are still interested in signing Loic Remy, despite the ‘…baggage in the way’.

Speaking to Radio Newcastle, the United manager has talked of what a ‘great player’ Remy was for the club last season and that Tyneside is also ‘great’ for the player himself.

The shock breakdown of Loic Remy’s move to Liverpool has seen the striker in a no man’s land, with QPR apparently not seeing him in their future plans despite ‘Arry Redknapp’s bluster.

A poll of thousands of Newcastle fans found that two in three supporters would welcome Remy back to Tyneside, despite the fact he admitted missing at least one match he was fit to play in, due to keeping himself for the World Cup.

Speaking to Radio Newcastle, Alan Pardew said this when asked about Loic Remy;

“There is a lot of baggage in the way but of course we are interested.

“He was a great player for us last season and I think Newcastle is a great place for him as well.”
