Transfer Tip Off Proves Correct As Newcastle Defender Agrees Move

At the start of May we were told by a friend of the website that James Tavernier had a move lined up to one of the four clubs in the Championship Play-offs.

Our information was that one of QPR, Wigan, Derby or Brighton had agreed to sign the Newcastle right-back but only after the play-offs were sorted.

Today Sky Sports have revealed that Wigan Athletic have agreed a transfer fee and terms with Tavernier.

This is what we said on 9 May;

‘One of our regular (and reliable) contributors to the website, has a very good source who reckons that one of the clubs in the Championship play-offs has a move for James Tavernier lined up.

The move is said to be scheduled to happen once the play-off issues are sorted…

As for the Championship ones; QPR, Wigan, Derby and Brighton are the four clubs challenging, with one of those being Tavernier’s next stop if our information is correct.’
