Tino Asprilla Reveals Four Month Newcastle Project
Working as a pundit over in Brazil, Tino Asprilla has revealed that after covering Columbia’s World Cup progress, the 44 year old has a four month Newcastle project in mind.
The Ex-Newcastle United cult hero intends to launch a career on English TV but admits that his grasp of the language isn’t all it could be, something any fans can confirm who have seen him at any football ‘talk-ins’…
Speaking to The National, this is what Tino had to say about his plans;
“I am going to spend four months in England so that I learn English, then I can talk about football on English TV.
“I will learn in Newcastle so that I have the best English accent.”
Columbia face Cheick Tiote’s Ivory Coast at 5pm on Thursday, in advance of England’s vital clash with Uruguay. With both teams winning their opening matches, a draw would edge each of them closer to qualifying in what is probably the weakest group, Japan and Greece making up the numbers.
Tino also reminisced about the days in black and white;
“Great memories, we beat Barcelona in the Champions League 3-2 and I scored all of the goals.
“I met some great people there and the fans made me feel very welcome.”
Just like he was at Newcastle, on and off the pitch, Tino will be no ordinary pundit and I look forward to hearing him using his (Newcastle) English to great effect in the near future.
