Sought After Striker’s Agent ‘Newcastle Are Always The Same With Transfers’
With only free transfer midfielder worker Jack Colback and Spanish second division striker Ayoze Perez arriving so far, an agent dealing for one of the most sought after strikers in the Premier League, Wilfried Bony, has given a damning indictment on Mike Ashley’s handling of transfers at Newcastle United.
Dalibor Lacina has spoken about how Newcastle could have landed Wilfried Bony for only £10m last summer, but he claims Newcastle didn’t think he was good enough, the striker going on to score 25 goals in his debut season in England.
Furthermore, Lacina summed up what a nightmare it is dealing with Newcastle United under Ashley, stating that, “…they are always the same with transfers.”
In an exclusive interview with the Shields Gazette, Dalibor Lacina said;
“I spoke to Newcastle about Bony last summer, they could have signed him for £10m, but they said they weren’t sure if he was good enough.
“I told them he would score goals wherever he played but it was only Huw Jenkins (Swansea’s Chairman) who took the risk.
“Newcastle is a traditional and fantastic club, but they’re always the same with transfers. I was in contact with them a couple of years ago about Tomas Ujfalusi who played for Atletico and Fiorentina, though it was a similar story,
“Next step for Bony is a top 6 club in England or top team in Germany, Spain or France – or he’ll stay with Swansea.
“Bony’s in a totally different place to Newcastle and wants to move to a club with ambition.”
