Shola’s Big Apple
If somebody is going to land on their feet then my money would always be on Shola Ameobi.
After somehow surviving countless managers at St.James’ Park, Shola has made a very very good living from Newcastle United with not an awful lot in return.
Now it could get even better for the lumbering striker, despite being binned by even Alan Pardew and Mike Ashley.
There were recent reports that Sydney FC were after the striker’s signature but now it could get better, even after featuring in Brazil – Free World Cup Bets also on offer.
It is claimed New York City FC (hence the big apple reference..) are interested in Shola, how good would that be for a forward who has already lived a charmed life?
However, the owners of New York City also own Melbourne City FC and with the next MLS season not starting until 2015, the likes of David Villa is already scheduled to play up to ten games in Australia before starting for their sister team in the USA when the next MLS season starts.
So for a Newcastle United reserve, a World Cup in Brazil followed potentially by low low level football in the Aussie and American cultures – only Shola…
