Sheffield Wednesday Confirm Interest In Signing Newcastle Player
With a lot of transfer activity expected at St.James’ Park this summer, in and out, Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed their interest on signing Sammy Ameobi.
Sammy had recently stated he was going all out to show in the final year of his contract he was worth a place in Newcastle’s first team, however, The Journal recently reported that they believed he would be sold just so long as Newcastle managed to bring in the players they were targeting.
Now though a move is looking more likely with definite interest from Yorkshire, Wednesday’s head coach Stuart Gray stating;
“We have spoken to Sammy’s agent. He is a quality player and he has shown that by playing in the Premier League. We will see what happens.”
The Sheffield club have just been taken over by new owner Hafiz Mammadov and it is anticipated that he will be making money available to Gray to strengthen the squad for a promotion push.”
